Amy Jefferson is the HR Manager at Alexander Battery Technologies, a global custom battery pack manufacturer who design and manufacture custom lithium-ion battery pack solutions. With headquarters in County Durham, the business manufactures over 100,000 handheld-size battery packs per month, and pride themselves on their innovative and collaborative working environment.
Amy is also an Enterprise Adviser, working closely with The Academy at Shotton Hall, a secondary school located in Peterlee, County Durham. As an Enterprise Adviser, Amy uses her own work experience, skills and knowledge to support students in a variety of ways:
“I attend their careers events, I’ve had their students on site for work experience, some one-on-one sessions with pupils who didn’t really know what they wanted to do when they left school.”
Enterprise Advisers partner with a local school or college to help them improve their connections with industry and develop and implement their careers strategy, supporting both students and staff.
“It’s important for students to have these experiences, to know that there is a world outside of the school, to know that there are opportunities that exist beyond going to college and going off to do a degree.”
